Your financial path
We follow a six stage process to deal with your current financial challenges and concerns, while helping you plan for the future.
We will always work at your pace, ensuring you feel completely comfortable with each stage of the process.
It all starts with an initial meeting where we will start to get to know each other. We develop long-term relationships with our clients. It’s therefore vital we take our time at this early stage to confirm we are the right financial planner for you.
If we decide to work together we’ll start your financial journey, taking you from where you are now, to where you want to be.
We build long-term relationships with our clients and our first meeting is our opportunity to start to get to know each other.
We’ll collect some of the basic information we need, but far more importantly we want to understand you; what makes you tick, what worries you, what are your objectives for life and your money. It’s also your opportunity to ask us about how we work, and of course, we’ll explain our fees.
Our initial meetings with clients usually take place in office hours, but at a location convenient for you, whether that’s your home, place of work or our office.
We’ll send you a summary of the things we discussed at our first meeting and outline the work we will do for you, along with a summary of our fees and a list of anything we need from you.
We’ll then start to understand the progress you have already made to achieving your financial objectives by contacting the companies where you hold your pensions, savings or investments.
We’ll report back, explaining your current state of financial health and how close, or indeed far away, you are from where you want to be. There might be some surprises too; it’s not unusual for us to find pensions, savings or investments that people have forgotten!
We’ll also start to discuss the options available to bridge any shortfall in your planning.
Now is the time for us to finalise the financial plan we’ve developed to meet your objectives.
For most of our clients implementing a plan will involve certain financial products; pensions, ISAs and so on. It’s at this stage that we start to research the market to find the most appropriate providers for you.
Even the best laid plans will fail with poor implementation.
Our team will do everything necessary to efficiently implement your financial plan. We’ll also confirm our final recommendations to you in writing.
Over time your objectives might change and events, both in your life and the wider world, will throw your financial plan off track.
We offer a variety of ongoing services to suit the needs of different clients. However, we generally meet with you at least once a year to review your plan. Of course, we are always available to answer your queries and are very happy to meet more frequently if necessary.
The value of your investment can go down as well as up and you may not get back the full amount invested.
